It is compact, thin and easy to set up--just follow the instructions on the screen after you have turned it on. The color was a little "washed out." I went into the color adjustment option and "tweaked" it a little. There is a protocol during the set-up that helps you select the color reception, however it proved not to be what I really wanted, so I did it manually. Now it is clear, sharp and very natural looking. I also adjusted the sound quality the same way. I feel this TV will rank with any more expensive Sony or Panasonic for quality and reception. If you are looking for a excellent, small 22" for the kitchen or bedroom, this is a keeper. The only problem, and it is a minor one, was during the "auto-scan" process to search for TV stations. It warns that it could take as much as 20 minutes--and it did. I had to do this three times since it turned itself off after about 15 minutes twice before completing the scan. It could have been my cable supplier, but don't worry. Be patient and all will be terrific.

A little researce and going by other reccomendations I selected this TV. It was as advertised with one exception. Ease of set up and picture were near perfect. Only complaint I have is the sound quality, VERY poor. Even after going thru the equlaizer set up and selecting type of entertainment to view .ie . movie,news, music etc all sounds as if it were emminating from a tin can. I am currently looking for an external speaker option.

Fowler I tried going for a smaller widescreen than everyone said I "had to have," and am I pleased! I suspected that since this is my first widescreen, and since I've been getting by on a 13-inch square since my 20-inch square TV went kaput, that a 22-inch Philips would seem like a huge step up. And does it ever. The picture is so sharp that I don't need a bigger screen in my little cottage -- certainly not until my upstairs 13-inch gasps its last. I can read the newscrawlers, subtitles and sports scores. The color is gorgeous, and I haven't even taken time to superfine tune it. The TV arrived days early from amazon.com yesterday afternoon, Free Super Saver Shipping, and I started setting it up this morning. Just then "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" came on Turner Classic Movies, and I hadn't seen it before, and wanted to, but I plunged ahead, watching while I looked at the Quick Start. I unplugged the old and was back watching the movie again before intermission. This HDTV has all the hoolymajiggits to hook up your PC, your video camera, your computer games, and I don't know what all, but being a film fan, all I have is a Magnavox DVD-VHS player, and that hooks up just fine. The remote operates intuitively, and I can move through the menu likewise without reading the manual. I just couldn't possibly be more pleased, especially since I've long depended upon the quality of Philips and Magnavox. Just after Christmas there were 22 of these sets, and they sold out before I could make a move. I let amazon.com know I was sold on the set, but couldn't buy in time. I was so sold that I was thinking of buying the same TV in the 32-inch if I couldn't get the 22. But true to form, amazon.com came through with more 22-inch Philips 720p LED LCD HDTV, Black. I bought one, it's here, and it's up and running, just like that, after weeks of checking availability. I actually think the 32-inch might be too big for my cottage as it is for my budget right now. My TV stands atop the entertainment tower for my component stereo system (remember those?) and it can face forward to the living room, or turn toward the adjacent bedroom (fishing village architecture). It's a very big picture either way. What I like about the Surround Sound is that a lower level is adequate because it's not all coming from one back speaker. No more blaring that makes my Chinese Shar-Pei rub her ears. I'm happy, happy, happy, and so is she. I won't be needing the free return, but in this neck of the woods, I'm grateful amazon.com offers it. Thank you, thank you, amazon.com.

Good basics, flawed details By Collin Lyle For very general understanding of Interior Design and as a study guide the NCIDQ exam this book is quite good. Be aware that as a tool for real world design solutions, it is lacking. The authors design philosophy and methodology are terrific, but the design solutions have problems. (example: A door entering into a two stall toilet room swings into the sink area. Anyone standing at the sink will be hit by the door when another person enters the room.) Although, if the reader has enough understanding of real world design conflicts and can spot the design errors in this book's illustrations, then the reader has gained the skill necessary to provide good workable design solutions. Many of the illustrtions do not comply with ADA guidlines, which is NOT necessary for passing the NCIDQ, but essential for the workplace. North Carolina, the state where I practice, has codified the ADA guidelines. Use this book as a study guide for NCIDQ. Be aware of design flaws. Use it at the office for philosophy and methodlogy only. If you are studying for NCIDQ, good luck, keep it simple, and parrot back everything that is required in your design solution. Do your finished design in black ink and write notes for everything.

You must understand that it's not a code book, so some of the dimensions, etc. should be verified based on your own location.

It offers so many ideas and great photos. Many techniques are covered along with a wealth of ideas that I haven't even thought of yet. I am a professional artist and instructor and will definitely recommend this book to my students. There are gallery shots as well as close-up details photos and artists working in their studio. I would love to see a companion book to this one that goes into even more detail on the techniques. Great work Lissa!

The New Encaustic Textbook By Tuareg Trader If Joanne Mattera's book is the Encaustic Bible Old Testament, Lissa Rankin's Encaustic Art is the New Testament we've all been waiting for. I've bought all of the encaustic books out there, and too many of them are either vague when it comes to technique or focus mostly on the techniques of only one or two artists. This new book distinguishes itself by demonstrating the techniques of many well respected and accomplished artists, in addition to the techniques used by the author. As a textbook, it's clear, concise, easy-to-follow, and comprehensive. But it's more than just a textbook. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone looking to expand the repertoire of their artistic knowledge, those wishing to better understand encaustic, or even for those just looking for new direction in their art.
My one critique is that I think part of my journey as an artist has been learning my technique by trial and error. This book gives so much detail and so many technique options that I wonder if beginners won't be skipping part of the learning process. By using this book, they will likely skip many of the "mistakes" many artists make while trying to create new effects, "mistakes" that often lead down unexpected creative avenues.
That aside, I think the book is wonderful. You won't be sorry if you buy it.

By Dianne Erickson This book has it all, beautiful photos, great basic information, and the usual encaustic techniques but it goes much further. Using wax for sculpture, printmaking and much more. The quality of the book is really good too, nice paper and lots of great color photos. If you want to learn the basics, or expand your work in wax, I totally recommend this book. You won't be disappointed.

Davis I recieved this purse as a birthday gift for my one year old after having considered buying it myself many times. The accessories that come with it are cute and fun. The lipstick rattles, the money crinkles, there's a bracelet to wear and mirror to look in, and the keys attach to the front of the purse.
The purse itself is awkward and bulky and barely opens enough to see inside. Not that you'd want to, because the inside is all seams and screws and ugliness. The purse doesn't stay opened or closed that well, it flops back and forth. The switch to change modes is difficult even for me to set on the right mode, and frankly it doesn't teach or sing that much. A few words and couple songs.
A regular (non-electronic) purse with the same accessories would be great. My daughter likes putting other things in the purse and taking things out so I think I will get her a normal toy purse to keep the accessories in to carry around and she can play with this purse every once in a while.
All in all I am neutral on this product. The accessories are cute but the purse isn't impressive.

LOVES CARRYING IT AROUND! Kisses herself in the mirror! LOL Little zipper on front makes "zipper" sound. Makes clicking (closing) sound when closed, educational songs, etc. Even w/o the educational features, it is so much fun (and safe) for a little girl's first purse. What you would expect from Fisher Price.

The purse plays music and my daughter dances to the music. She loves to play with the mirror and bracelet in particular. My daughter spends a lot of time putting things into her purse and taking them back out again. My daughter is on the young side for this toy, but she enjoys it and I know that it will grow with her. You won't be disappointed.
I would buy it again in a heartbeat. What a great toy!
